Life is as simple or as complex as you make it. If you have a
firm grasp of the basics everything else is just an application of the basics
to the changing circumstances of new events that come along in life.
- Rule 1. - "Acknowledge benefits by the return of benefits, and refrain
from revenging injuries" - Confuscius
"Love thy neighbor as thyself" - Jesus Christ
Also known as the Golden Rule - In simple terms; If you want
to be loved be to loving others, be respectful to others and you
will gain respect for yourself. Anything you want in life can
be gained if you first practice giving it to others.
- Rule 2 - Perspective - Maintaining a positive perspective as much as
possible will save your energy for the more important things in life.
It takes more energy to be negative than to be positive and one
person's smile or simple compliment can turn around the day
of someone who is in a negative space at the time you encounter
them. Life is never all good or all bad but a positive outlook will
help you to weather the negative situations in life much better and
positivity is contagious.
- Rule 3 - Balance - There is an appropriate time and appropriate place for all
your interests and desires.
Make time for work and time for play. Enjoy a social life and cherish
quiet moments of self reflection.
Give of your time to those who deserve it and remember to take
time for yourself.
Any time we are out of the balance that works best for us we
become subject to a correction which can be mild or devastating
depending on how out of balance we are.
Being as close to Center as possible will limit the scope and
duration of balance corrections
These are 3 simple rules I have learned to live by in order to avoid the chaos that plagued me for so many years. I am still regaining my balance, it is a process not an event, and as such requires effort and awareness on my part along with a great deal of introspection. If this blog helped you in any way or you have any questions feel free to contact me to discuss the life experiences I have had that most poignantly illustrated each lesson to me. Richard "PDK" Lange
